Test Lead – Stoke-on-Trent, Defence, c£60,000


I am working with an IT services company, who specialises in defence, and they are looking to recruit a Test Lead. The role is to keep services running smoothly by planning, running, and coordinating tests. You should know testing methods and automation, and be ready to guide the team to hit project goals.

The role is a full-time office position, based in Stoke-on-Trent, and is only open to Sole British Nationals due to level of clearance needed.


What we are looking for:


  • Solid understanding of testing, with a focus on component and systems testing.
  • Experience in security compliance in the Defence environment.
  • Strong understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, including test planning, execution, automation, and defect management.
  • Local to Stoke due to office requirements.


What you will be doing:


  • Create test plans, strategies, and cases to cover all project requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate functional, performance, and UAT testing.
  • Spot automation opportunities and build automated tests to save time.
  • Track and manage defects from discovery to resolution with the development team.
  • Keep QA processes and standards in check across the project.
  • Share testing updates, results, and risks with stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and tools for better efficiency.
