Tesco Shift Leader – Ridgway Rd Express Join to apply for the Tesco Shift Leader – Ridgway Rd Express role at Tesco. Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour, increasing to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; you can opt to work as few as 12 hours. You will be scheduled within the availability windows we provide. Availability Windows

Responsibilities
Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, managing a diverse range of tasks. Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations. Be present for customers, listening to them and ensuring they leave satisfied. Proactively improve service, coaching colleagues and providing feedback. Guide and support colleagues in‑store, ensuring a safe workplace. Monitor store performance and assist managers with improvement actions. Lead from the front, setting a strong example for the team.
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience. Support colleagues, ensuring they achieve daily priorities and take regular breaks. Open and close the store and complete duty cover. Act as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day queries in the manager’s absence. Maintain a clean, tidy, well‑presented store. Support managers with seasonal, community and charity events. Foster an inclusive team atmosphere. Deliver excellent customer service. Keep the team informed on communications, changes, or updates. Stay knowledgeable about store performance, looking for operational improvements. Coordinate store improvements and remove obstacles to service. Follow health and safety routines and procedures. Recognise and celebrate colleagues’ great service.
You Will Need
Excellent customer service and relationship‑building skills. Strong communication skills, using various methods to keep the team informed. The confidence to lead and oversee the store in the manager’s absence. Good decision‑making ability, flexibility, and adaptability to change.
