Urgent Temporary Opportunity - Head of Finance (Education Sector)

West London | Hybrid

4-Week Contract | Start: Week Commencing 16th March

Full Time | 9am - 5pm

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance from the education sector to step into a 4-week temporary assignment in West London to support a handover period within a well-established organisation.

This is an urgent requirement, so the successful candidate must be immediately available and already hold a valid DBS check.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure strong financial controls Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis Monitor P&L performance and provide financial insights to senior leadership Manage cash flow forecasting, purchase ledger, and supplier payments Oversee payroll and pension processing Manage VAT returns and statutory financial compliance Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Maintain and oversee financial systems such as Sage or similar platforms Provide clear financial reporting to senior leadership during the transition period

Requirements

✔ Previous Head of Finance / Senior Finance leadership experience

✔ Experience within the education sector

✔ Strong technical accounting background

✔ Experience with management accounts, forecasting, and compliance

✔ Proficiency with financial systems such as Sage or Xero

✔ Advanced Excel skills

✔ Active DBS check (essential)

✔ Able to start week commencing 16th March
