In indirect tax at PwC, you will focus on value‑added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax and other indirect taxes. Your work will involve providing advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimise their indirect tax positions.

Sitting within our Transformation & Technology (T&T) team, corporate tax technology is a growing area of the business. You will work on a project basis to help enhance our clients’ tax functions through deploying innovative technology solutions and delivering tools to solve tax reporting, statutory accounting and tax compliance challenges.

As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will be responsible for assisting clients in identifying opportunities or issues that could be resolved through the use of corporate tax technology and then seeing those ideas through from inception to completion. This may be in isolation, but will frequently be part of a wider roadmap of activities including strategy, risk and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the business development for Transformation and Technology sales pipeline through engaging with PwC’s client portfolio
  • Solving client problems through a wide range of technology, including identifying the best solution for the client problems
  • Managing upwards to keep senior stakeholders aware of progress on delegated tasks
  • Managing own workload considering wider project priorities and commitments
  • Building relationships with clients and PwC engagement teams, expanding your network and actively participating in meetings and workshops
  • Developing your tax technical, digital and industry knowledge

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2‑3 years of experience
  • Working towards or having a CTA, ACA or equivalent qualification
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on technology solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of indirect tax, VAT/GST/sales tax and tax compliance
