What we're looking for

We're looking for passionate team players to bring joy to our customers every day. As a Technical Team Lead in our Facilities team, you'll report directly to one of our Facilities Managers and lead our in-house technician team to deliver exceptional operational performance across the Pret estate. You will drive operational excellence by leading your team, optimising processes, and building strong relationships with Shops, Ops, and other stakeholders. This hands-on leadership role requires problem-solving, continuous improvement and communication, and a commitment to high-quality delivery, ensuring our shops remain outstanding spaces for both teams and customers.

Key responsibilities
  • Support your Facilities Manager in managing maintenance activity across a defined group of shops within the Pret estate.
  • Manage and develop a team of technicians, providing guidance, day to day support, and performance feedback, and address performance issues in line with company policy.
  • Identify training and development needs for yourself and your team, support individual performance to achieve high standards, and promote a positive, safe, and high-performing team culture.
  • Participate in recruitment planning and selection processes as required.
  • Take ownership of strategising technician deployment to ensure the most effective allocation of resources and proactively identify opportunities to drive value.
  • Monitor and control maintenance expenditure, ensuring work is delivered within budget and in line with agreed procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of a proactive maintenance service, ensuring works completed by technicians meet agreed timescales and updating the Facilities Manager on Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance.
  • Work with the Pret FM Helpdesk Team to optimise call completions and technician deployment.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for your group of in-house technicians, ensuring SLA delivery across the defined region.
  • Plan, prioritise, and implement planned and reactive maintenance work to agreed standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to developing FM processes and procedures to enable continuous improvement.
  • Regularly inspect work completed by internal technicians and external contractors to ensure quality and value for money.
  • Ensure equipment asset information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Deputise/ Provide cover for the Facilities Manager during holidays or periods of absence.
  • Manage the tech rota system to ensure appropriate availability.
  • Inform and update the Facilities Manager and Ops if SLAs are at risk of not being met.
  • Ensure sufficient stock levels and parts ordering to maintain technician productivity.
  • Manage the workshop and associated areas, ensuring they are clean and operationally effective.
  • Assist with minor alterations and improvement works to shops as requested by the Facilities Manager.
  • You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Your shift pattern will operate on a three-week rotating schedule, as outlined below:
-Week 1: 7am - 3:30pm

-Week 2: 9am - 5:30pm

-Week 3: 10am - 7pm
  • The role will be based onsite across our warehouses, shops, and Support Centre in London Victoria.
Experience and Skills required
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads effectively across multiple sites.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements in a facilities environment.
  • Willingness and motivation to learn and develop leadership and management skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering consistently high-quality results.
