Location: Broughton (Onsite)
Contract: 12 Month Contract (possible extension)
Hours: Double day shift pattern (alternating weeks) 35 Hours per week with paid overtime over 35 hours (25% uplift Monday-Friday & 50% uplift Saturday-Sunday)
Week of mornings - 6:00am - 1:10pm
Week of afternoons - 1:30pm - 8:40pm
20% shift uplift
Rate: £26.92ph PAYE / £36.00ph Umbrella Clearance: BPSS (completed by the Client) IR35: Inside IR35
The Opportunity
Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation within a highly regulated environment, is seeking a Technical Shopfloor Engineer to support production operations at their Broughton facility. This role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing or production engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on shopfloor environment and enjoys resolving complex technical issues.
You will work closely with production teams and Autonomous Production Teams (APT), providing end‑to‑end technical support, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring operational excellence across the shopfloor.
Key Responsibilities
Accompany and support the Production Team / Autonomous Production Teams (APT) on the shopfloor Identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues beyond the scope of Operators and First Line Managers Provide an end‑to‑end (E2E) technical perspective at shopfloor level Support continuous production enablement through effective use of resources and technical knowledge Contribute to Operational Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives Identify and support the reduction of non‑conformance within production Ensure strong focus on customer requirements, product safety, and regulatory compliance
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in manufacturing or production engineering Experience working within regulated environments and constraints Strong problem‑solving and technical analysis skills Ability to work autonomously with a proactive and adaptable approach Clear and effective communication skills Experience supporting non‑conformance reduction activities Project management experience is advantageous HNC qualification desirable, though experience is prioritised over formal qualifications
