Job Description
The Opportunity\n\nThis is a fantastic role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering and customer engagement. You'll manage and develop relationships across the North UK territory, acting as a trusted technical partner to customers and supporting them throughout their design, qualification, and procurement cycles.\n\nYou'll work closely with internal teams and franchised manufacturers to provide technical guidance, resolve challenges, and convert opportunities into long-term business.\n\nIf you enjoy technical conversations, building strong customer relationships, and supporting complex applications, this role offers the autonomy and variety you'll love.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTerritory & Customer Management\n\nManage and grow a portfolio of existing customers across the North UK region.\nIdentify and develop new business opportunities and applications.Technical Sales Support\n\nProvide application-level support and product selection guidance.\nOffer technical input during design, qualification, and project development phases.Customer Engagement\n\nAttend customer meetings, site visits, and design reviews.\nUnderstand technical and commercial requirements to propose effective solutions.Collaboration & Supplier Liaison\n\nWork closely with internal sales, product management, engineering, and quality teams.\nSupport supplier introductions, joint visits, and technical presentations.Reporting & Market Insight\n\nMaintain accurate activity records, forecasts, and opportunity pipelines.\nShare market intelligence, competitor activity, and customer trends with the wider business. \n\nYour Profile\n\nEssential Experience & Skills\n\nProven background in technical sales, applications engineering, or field sales engineering.\nStrong technical understanding of electronic and/or electromechanical components.\nConfident communicating with engineering and commercial stakeholders.\nExperience managing a regional territory and working autonomously.\nCommercial awareness, including pricing and negotiation.\nFull clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.\nExperience selling into defence, aerospace, space, rail, or industrial sectors.\nFamiliarity with qualification standards, approvals, or harsh‑environment applications.
