Futureheads have exclusively partnered with a fast-growing data & AI agency, who help clients turn complex data into actionable insight, to hire a Mid-weight Technical Project Manager.

£375-£430 a day Outside IR35

3 month initial contract with look to extend

This person will play a key role in shaping and improving how projects are run, building out processes, and keeping multiple client engagements on track across a variety of tools and workflows. AI is at the core of what they do, so you’ll need to be comfortable in that world, but you don’t need to come specifically from an AI agency background. You mus have worked with Ai as a concept!

The role:

You’ll sit at the heart of delivery, owning the day-to-day running of several concurrent client projects across data, analytics and AI.

You’ll translate briefs into clear plans, co-ordinate technical and non-technical teams, and make sure work lands on time, on budget and to a standard clients are excited about. A big part of the role is tightening up process – putting in structure where things are ad hoc today and helping the team scale.

This is not for someone who has only worked on large enterprise project management roles- you need to be comfortable in an agency and start-up setting.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing end-to-end delivery of multiple client projects, from kick-off through to completion.
• Building and maintaining project plans, tracking milestones, risks, dependencies and budgets.
• Acting as the main day-to-day contact for clients: sharing updates, managing expectations and handling questions.
• Turning client requirements into clear scopes, timelines and deliverables for data, analytics and AI teams.
• Keeping on top of project hygiene: status reports, action logs, RAID items and meeting notes.
• Using modern tooling (e.g. Jira, Asana, Float or similar) to manage workloads, capacity and burn rates.
• Working closely with delivery and technical leads to remove blockers and keep momentum.
• Spotting opportunities to improve how projects are run and suggesting simple, practical process changes.

About you:

• Experience as a Project Manager in an agency, consultancy or similar multi-client environment where you have autonomy and improved projects with personality and technical knowledge.
• Confident running several projects at once, with strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with technical teams (data, engineering, AI) and translating between “business” and “tech”.
• Curious about data and AI: you understand the basics and are happy to learn more as you go.
• Clear, confident communicator who builds good relationships with both clients and internal teams.
• Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and happy taking ownership rather than waiting to be directed.

Tools & ways of working

• Used to working with common delivery tools (e.g. Jira, Asana, Trello, Float or equivalents).
• Familiar with basic delivery metrics like burn, utilisation and velocity.
• Comfortable documenting work in a way others can easily follow and pick up.
