Overview
Crawford Henderson Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic person to come in, initially as a trainee, and learn how our factory works, before ultimately taking ownership of the technical side of our production line.
Here at our factory in Maybole, we manufacture customised merchandise for some of the worlds most prestigious visitor attractions, and have a facility filled with a mix of the latest, state-of-the-art production equipment, and traditional print machinery.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic person with a positive, constructive attitude to grow with our business, and ultimately create their own unique role within it.
Key Responsibilities
Creating and running production jobs on our large format digital printers and cutters:
The most important processes in our factory.
All jobs start from here, so a meticulous attention-to-quality is vital.
You will be taught how to print and cut, how to match colours, and you will learn, over time, how to work together with the other production processes for efficient production.
Liaising with our design team to create job-specific production files:
As you begin to understand what the job entails and how things work, and as you get to grips with the process, you will work together with our design team to prepare artwork and production files in advance.
Setting up and Programming Automatic Sewing Machines:
We have a set of automatic sewing machines, capable of churning our enormous quantities of products.
It is vital that they are correctly set-up, programmed and maintained, and you will be taught how to do all of this, before taking ownership of their operation.
Setting up foil printers for traditional foil printing and embossing runs:
Our foil printing machines work around the clock, and need constant attention.
You will be taught how to set up jobs, how to troubleshoot problems, and how to prepare printing tooling.
Maintaining a full suite of production equipment, including hydraulic cutting presses, digital printing equipment, foil printing equipment, sewing machines etc.
You will be taught how to maintain all of our equipment, and will eventually take ownership of the management of their upkeep.
Take a leading role in R&D projects, focussed on production and factory improvements (both physical, and digital).
