This role sits at the intersection of engineering leadership, technical strategy, and ecosystem partnership, ensuring Arm delivers world-class tools that help developers understand, optimise, and innovate on Arm-based platforms.
The successful candidate will guide multiple engineering teams, align architectural decisions and features across products, and ensure that our performance-tooling solutions are effective, robust, scalable, and trusted by developers worldwide.

The successful candidate will guide multiple engineering teams, align architectural decisions and features across products, and ensure that our performance-tooling solutions are effective, robust, scalable, and trusted by developers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Deliver value to users by driving the technical vision and architectural roadmap requirements for Arm’s performance-tooling products which includes data collection, profiling, analysis, visualisation, and insight generation.
- Lead cross-team technical strategy, ensuring coherent design decisions across components, services, and toolchains.
- Work with engineering managers and product leads to ensure teams have clear priorities, the right technical direction, and an environment that supports experimentation and continuous improvement.
- Represent Arm externally with partners, customers, and the open-source community, ensuring our tools integrate well with industry standards and complement the wider developer ecosystem.
- Evaluate and guide technical risks, architectural trade-offs, and long-term platform decisions.
- Validated experience leading technical strategy and architectural direction for complex software products.
- Experience guiding engineering teams, with a focus on high-quality delivery, well-reasoned trade-offs, and data-informed decision-making.
- Solid working knowledge of performance engineering and its related technologies, systems programming principles, CPU architecture fundamentals, and performance-critical software behaviour.
- Ability to align diverse team members, communicate sophisticated ideas clearly, and build collaborative momentum across distributed teams.
- Familiarity with compilers, toolchains, and low-level runtime behaviour (e.g., optimisations, JIT interactions, instruction-level performance).
- Exposure to performance tooling across multiple architectures (Arm, x86, RISC-V) providing wider insight and strategic judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with ecosystem forums, standards groups or partner engagements.
