Technical Manager - Chilled Food Manufacturing\n\nLocation: Slough\n Salary: £50,000 - £60,000\n Reporting to: Site Lead \n Interview Process: 2 stages, (first Teams, second F2F)\n\nOverview\n\nWe are recruiting for a hands-on Technical Manager to join a dynamic chilled food manufacturing site in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a current Factory QA Manager or Quality Manager looking to take the next step in their career. The role is central to maintaining and improving site technical standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting customer relationships.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the site's technical agenda, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and legal standards.\nOwn and develop the site's Quality Management System (QMS), driving continuous improvement and simplification.\nManage customer audits and approvals, ensuring readiness and successful outcomes.\nAct as the technical point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders.\nSupport and coach the QA team, fostering a culture of accountability and high standards.\nCollaborate with production and operations to ensure technical standards are upheld on the factory floor.\nInvestigate and resolve non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier issues.\nMaintain up-to-date documentation and records in line with BRC and retailer standards.\nDrive site-wide awareness of food safety and quality through training and engagement.Ideal Candidate Profile\n\nCurrently working in a Factory QA Manager or Quality Manager role within a chilled food manufacturing environment.\nStrong working knowledge of QMS, HACCP, and food safety legislation.\nConfident and assertive on the factory floor, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.\nExperience with customer audits and technical documentation.\nDoesn 't need to have managed a large team-leadership potential and resilience are key.\nM&S experience is not required; chilled experience is essential.\nExperience working with retailers such as Sainsbury's is beneficial.Why Join?\n\nBe part of a growing site with a strong leadership team.\nOpportunity to shape the technical function and make a visible impact.\nClear progression path for someone looking to move into senior technical leadership.\nSupportive environment with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
