Technical Manager About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join a successful and well-established Fresh Produce business. This role is integral to supporting the wider Technical Department, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of food safety, legality, and quality in line with BRC and customer requirements. You’ll work closely with the Group Technical Director, internal teams, and customers, maintaining strong relationships and driving continuous improvement across all technical and quality functions. Key Responsibilities Support the Technical Director and Technical Team to achieve business quality and compliance objectives. Act as a key contact for customer technical queries and audits. Maintain and improve internal and third-party audit programmes in line with BRC and customer standards. Lead or support customer, BRC, and compliance audits, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented. Oversee supplier approval, due diligence, and compliance documentation. Conduct UK and overseas supplier visits, ensuring adherence to customer and industry standards. Support HACCP, TACCP, and operational team meetings to promote continuous improvement. Work cross-functionally to align group technical systems and share best practices. Maintain accurate product specifications and technical data in line with customer requirements. Support new product development, innovation, and improvement initiatives across the business. Proactively monitor and drive improvements in product safety, quality, and consistency. Candidate Requirements Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving approach. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Confident, decisive, and solutions-focused under pressure. Strong understanding of BRC, HACCP, TACCP, and major retailer technical standards. Previous experience in a customer-facing technical role within food manufacturing/Fresh Produce.
