Technical Delivery Manager, Subsea

Available Locations: Birmingham, London or Bude. This role requires regular national travel and may involve occasional international travel. Why this job matters The purpose of this Technical Delivery role is to lead on the implementation of BT subsea initiatives, including infrastructure rollout, maintenance, optimisation, and policy development. Reporting to the Senior Manager for BT Subsea, the role involves working with BT Group teams and external organisations to deliver multiple solutions across the subsea arena, addressing various challenges. This role ensures the delivery of services and infrastructure aligned with SLAs and business needs by: Driving project deliveries with cross-team collaboration Managing risks, issues, and stakeholder reporting Enhancing delivery processes through automation and innovation Identifying cost-saving and customer experience improvements What you'll be doing Own and deliver technical projects from requirements to implementation Produce and manage delivery plans Design and improve working processes Manage changes and dependencies Control project finances and report progress Communicate with stakeholders and senior management Support junior team members Ensure legal, regulatory, and safety compliance Engage with suppliers and manage contracts Support business case development and project prioritisation Expertise and experience Experience in medium to large-scale technical delivery Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Understanding of complex trade-offs and stakeholder management Proven leadership in matrixed teams Experience with diverse environments and embedding positive cultures Active risk and issue management Financial management experience Preferred qualifications Subsea experience Engineering background Certifications: ITIL, AGILE, PRINCE, APM Skills Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage change and innovate Influencing and conflict resolution skills Analytical thinking and commercial awareness About us BT Group is a leading UK telecommunications provider, investing in digital infrastructure including full fibre broadband and 5G.
