This role is based on the DCP Customer site and is key to delivering the DCP/Dorset contract. The role involves providing technical expertise to deliver ICT projects, ranging from small application changes to large, complex projects, programs, or portfolios. The team ensures technical requirements are met within time and budget, managing approximately 2,500 days of effort annually across around 400 projects.

The Team Lead of the Technical Consultant oversees the successful delivery of technical projects, acting as the main contact for all technical streams. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams, leading project kick-offs, triaging work, and ensuring technical consistency and quality across initiatives.

The individual will drive progress, resolve escalations, and align technical activities with business goals. They serve as the primary point of contact for project queries and support the team in technical challenges.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Lead and coordinate technical aspects of multiple IT projects from initiation through delivery
  2. Attend and chair project start-up calls, ensuring clear understanding of scope, roles, and timelines
  3. Triage incoming technical queries, incidents, and requests, assigning tasks based on urgency and expertise
  4. Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, project managers, stakeholders, and clients
  5. Provide Technical Consultancy services for the Devonshire and Cornwall Police Contract, ensuring customer needs are met as per contractual requirements, and deliver resource services across projects and small changes
