Azure PaaS Technical Architect
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Permanent
Are you an experienced Azure PaaS Architect looking to work on large-scale, high-impact cloud transformation programmes?
We’re partnering with a major UK organisation operating at scale to find a skilled Azure PaaS Technical Architect to help modernise critical digital services across scheduling, delivery, and customer engagement platforms.
This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver cloud-, enterprise-grade solutions using Microsoft Azure PaaS technologies, working on complex systems that support millions of users across the UK.
The Role:
As an Azure PaaS Technical Architect , you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions. You’ll play a hands-on architectural role while also providing technical leadership across engineering and DevOps teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing end-to-end Azure PaaS architectures for application migration and modernisation
Assessing legacy/on-premise environments and defining cloud migration strategies
Translating business and technical requirements into robust solution designs
Implementing Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Service Bus , and related components
Working closely with development and DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
Ensuring best practices across security, scalability, performance, and cost optimisation
Providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to delivery teams
About You:
Essential experience:
Proven experience delivering Azure cloud migration and modernisation projects
Strong background in .NET Core, Angular, and SQL
Deep understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services
Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Azure SQL
Experience designing microservices and API-led architectures
Solid knowledge of Azure networking, , monitoring, and security
Experience using Azure Migrate and related tooling
Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (ARM, Bicep, or similar)
Desirable:
Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-305, AZ-104 )
Experience with Azure DevOps and automated deployment pipelines
Strong understanding of Azure security best practices , including IAM and RBAC
Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
