This role is responsible for leading a team of operatives to ensure production processes run safely efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.You will play a key role in delivering production targets while maintaining strong standards in health and safety food safety and product quality. Leading by example you will support your team to achieve operational goals while driving continuous improvement across your area.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of line operatives within the production departmentReport directly to the Shift Manager and provide updates on performance issues and production progressTake responsibility for the performance training and day to day supervision of line operativesEnsure a safe working environment is maintained and all health and safety and fire procedures are followedDrive key performance indicators for your area and motivate the team to consistently meet targetsMonitor product quality and ensure any unsuitable products are rejected while minimising wasteOrder materials including packaging and product accurately and in a timely mannerIdentify opportunities to improve safety quality productivity and cost efficiencySupport and oversee the training of team members ensuring they are fully competent in their rolesCoordinate and manage the day to day activities of the production teamComplete all required checks and tasks including CCP monitoringAccurately complete production systems including Defacto Redzone and yield reportingEscalate production issues including equipment breakdowns to ensure minimal downtimeEnsure all production paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and on timeSupport continuous improvement initiatives across production operationsCarry out product changeovers and machine set up in line with company proceduresWork closely with the Engineering team to resolve issues quickly during the shiftCarry out any other reasonable management requests when requiredSkills Knowledge and ExperiencePrevious experience within a food manufacturing environmentProven experience leading or supervising a team in a production settingStrong communication skills with the ability to motivate influence and challenge when neededGood verbal and written communication skillsWell organised with the ability to work to tight deadlinesAbility to lead teams to achieve safety quality and production targetsKnowledge of GMP standardsKnowledge of HACCP principlesUnderstanding of hygiene standards within food productionKnowledge of health and safety standardsAllergen awarenessBasic IT skillsWhat We Are Looking ForMy client is seeking a proactive and organised team leader who can inspire others while maintaining high operational standards.
