Hours: Variable shift rota across 7 days, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
We are seeking a committed and experienced Team Leader to join a residential childcare provision in Kent. This is a key role within the home, combining hands-on care delivery with leadership responsibility to ensure high standards of safeguarding, compliance, and positive outcomes for young people.
About the RoleAs Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day running of the home while providing direct care and guidance to children and young people. You will lead shifts, support staff, and help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct, high-quality care and support to children and young people
- Lead shifts and coordinate staff to ensure safe and consistent care delivery
- Act as a role model for professional practice and safeguarding
- Support care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
- Support inspections and regulatory compliance requirements
- Mentor and support junior team members
Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience working within a residential childrens home
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Ability to lead shifts confidently xbpsjku and make sound decisions
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a senior or team leader role
- £14.75 per hour (40 hours per week)
- £70.50 per sleep-in
