Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

About the Role

We are seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who benefit from additional support, particularly in behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.

The role would particularly suit a male Teaching Assistant who can act as a positive role model, supporting students who benefit from strong male mentorship and representation.

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop both socially and emotionally—both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic and pastoral support to students across KS3 and KS4

• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, including support for students with SEMH needs

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support lesson delivery and student progress

• Promote positive behaviour and implement school behaviour policies effectively

• Act as a consistent and positive role model for students

• Support safeguarding practices and contribute to student wellbeing

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with young people (school-based or similar settings)

• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

• A calm, patient, and resilient approach

• A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

• The ability to engage and motivate disengaged learners

• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
