SEND Teaching Assistant - Specialist & Complex Needs Schools

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEND schools supporting children with complex and profound learning needs. Opportunities are available on both a long-term and day-to-day supply basis.

This role is ideal for individuals who are confident supporting pupils who require intensive, hands-on support in a structured and caring environment.

Your role will include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis throughout the school day

Assisting children with complex needs such as ASD, PMLD, SLD, and SEMH

Providing personal care and supporting mobility and physical needs where required

Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour using positive strategies

Supporting learning activities planned by the class teacher

We are looking for candidates who:

Have previous experience in SEND or specialist education settings

Are confident supporting pupils with complex needs and behavioural challenges

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience

Hold relevant training such as Team Teach, Moving & Handling, Personal Care, Trauma-Informed Practice, Tracheostomy or similar (advantageous)
