SANZA Teaching Agency are recruiting on behalf of an enriching and inspiring primary school in Havering.

They are seeking a caring, patient, and skilled teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in reception who has Autism.

The student is pre-verbal, so the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of speech and language development and be able to support communication in creative, engaging ways.

The role:

Provide consistent 1:1 support to a reception pupil with Autism Provide daily and ongoing support with speech and language development Come up with fun and creative activities that will support the student's speech and language development Implement strategies to encourage communication and interaction Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals

The ideal teaching assistant:

Will have experience supporting children with Autism in an educational setting A strong understanding of early years development Be familiar with pre-verbal communication approaches (e.g. PECS, Makaton) Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping every child reach their potential Must be able to work independently and be genuinely interested in designing a variety of different activities that will support the student's speech and language development
