Five Education is working with a specialist SEND school that is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.The school supports pupils from Year 1 through to Year 11 with a range of complex medical needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH). Staff work closely together to provide a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.This role would suit someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.The RoleSupporting pupils aged Year 1 - Year 11 with complex needs and SEMHAssisting the class teacher with adapted lessons and learning activitiesProviding 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage with learningSupporting students with emotional regulation and behaviourAssisting with personal care and medical needs where requiredHelping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environmentThe Ideal CandidateExperience supporting children or young people with SENDExperience with PMLD or SEMH is highly desirablePatient, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situationsA proactive team player who works well with teaching and support staffPassionate about helping young people build confidence and achieve their potential*If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
