Your Role as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant

As a qualified Level 3 TA, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality learning across Chester schools, taking on more independent responsibilities such as:

• Leading small-group interventions and targeted learning programmes across core subjects
• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional or individual needs
• Delivering structured learning activities confidently, including when covering in a teacher’s absence
• Supporting behaviour management and helping maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Assisting teachers with assessments, progress tracking and feedback
• Adapting classroom resources to meet a diverse range of learning needs, including SEND
• Taking a proactive role in planning discussions, classroom routines and wider school life

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in Level 3 Teaching Assistant roles across Chester, you’ll need:

• A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary, secondary or SEND school (through study, placements or employment)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and inclusive practice
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships
• Confidence delivering small-group activities and differentiated learning
• A caring, adaptable and committed approach to pupils’ academic and emotional development
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
