Pay: £95 - £125.89 per day (PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist ASC and SEMH secondary school in Leigh, and they are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team from 5th January. This is a long-term position, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the School

This secondary setting provides a modern, supportive, and structured learning environment for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school combines strong pastoral and therapeutic support with engaging curriculum opportunities to help students thrive.

The Role:

Supporting students on a 1:1 or small-group basis

Assisting with learning, behaviour regulation, and emotional wellbeing

Helping students manage anxiety and access education in a calm, consistent way

Supporting engagement across academic and practical subjects

Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and specialist staff

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker (desirable but not essential)

Understanding of ASC and SEMH needs, or willingness to learn

Calm, patient, and resilient approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

What's on Offer:

£95 - £125.89 per day (PAYE)
