Title: Supply Chain Manager

Reports to: Operations Director

Direct reports - up to 4

Location: 100% onsite based at Greenbridge, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3JB

Your Role

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team and optimizing the supply chain operations ensuring the efficient flow of materials, information, and products from suppliers to the production facility.


This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, implementing innovative systems and processes, and aligning supply chain strategy with overall business objectives.


The Supply Chain Manager will champion cost efficiency, and continuous improvement to support

high-quality, on-time production and customer delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate supply chain activities.
  • Lead and manage the supply chain team, including performance management, setting individual objectives, and ensuring high standards.
  • Implement supply chain strategies that align with business goals.
  • Drive process re-engineering and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance data visibility.
  • Ensure purchase orders are placed promptly when triggered by sales or safety stock requirements.
  • Track and follow up on purchase orders to identify delays or problems early, resolving supply delays and shortages directly with suppliers before escalating to Procurement.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, escalating delays or shortages that may impact production.
  • Monitor and optimise inventory levels to balance cost and service levels, including actively managing Slow-Moving and Obsolete Inventory (SLOBS) with monthly reporting.
  • Analyse supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) log, ensuring all items are addressed within a week.


Experience & Skills required:

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) desirable but not essential
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities at all levels
  • Experience in Managing a Far east supply chain is desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain analytics tools
  • Implemented new systems and digital tools
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of and navigating regulatory compliance and sustainability standards
  • Highly organised, able to handle multiple tasks and own/delegate as necessary
  • Able to influence at all levels of the business
