We are a pioneering design and manufacturing organisation with a new, highly innovative product range. Due to growth and further expansion, we are looking for a talented Supply Chain & Inventory Operations Controller to undertake a varied and pivotal role as part of our close-knit team. As such, you will have the ability to make a real difference and be a key part of the business as we continue to develop.
As Supply Chain & Inventory Operations Controller, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end supply chain, procurement and inventory management across contract manufacturers and internal R&D operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials availability, cost optimisation and supply chain resilience.
You will act as the main interface between engineering teams, suppliers and OEM/CEM partners, supporting both commercial production and R&D programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate visibility of inventory across outsourced manufacturing and R&D stock
Own inventory control using MRP or similar ERP/SAP systems
Align material availability with forecasts, production plans and order pipelines
Manage OEM/CEM relationships, including stock, Work In Progress and delivery performance
Lead supplier selection, negotiation, onboarding and ongoing performance management
Support R&D and specialist engineering projects with rapid, low‑volume sourcing
Drive BOM cost‑reduction initiatives in collaboration with engineering and suppliers
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including shortages, lead times and single‑source exposure
Ensure procurement processes meet compliance and quality requirements
To succeed in this varied and key role you will ideally have:
Proven supply chain and procurement experience within manufacturing, electronics or related engineering / production environment
Strong experience working with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) OR contract electronic manufacturer (CEM) partners and outsourced manufacturing
Hands‑on ERP/MRP experience essential
Successful supplier negotiation and inventory management track record
Demonstrated Bill of Material (BOM) cost‑reduction experience
Whilst not essential, any experience supporting R&D or NPI environments or knowledge of electronics or component supply chain would be desirableSupply Chain Coordinator / Project Procurement and Inventory Controller
