We are currently recruiting for an exciting start up business. After 5 years operating in the food retail sector they have an exciting strategy to quadruple turnover in the next 3 years, in order to deliver on the strategy they are currently looking to add to the team with a Supply Chain and Inventory Manager to support the day to day operations of the business, as the business is small and growing whilst the role is predominantly focussed on supply chain and inventory the successful person will be involved in other aspects of the operation\n\nIf you're passionate about food, have a proven track record in managing end-to-end operations within a fast-paced environment, and thrive on building efficient processes that drive growth and profitability, then we want to hear from you.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nYou will play a crucial role in managing the entire supply chain process, from production to distribution and retailer relationships. You’ll be responsible for ensuring we consistently deliver high-quality products to our retail partners, meet customer demand, and keep operations running smoothly.\n\nYour main responsibilities will include:\n\n * Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including production, inventory management, logistics, and distribution to major UK retailers.
(Demand Planning & Forecasting)\n\n * Retailer Coordination: Manage key retailer relationships (GFR etc), ensuring on-time deliveries, high stock availability, and compliance with retailer-specific requirements.\n\n * Cost Control & Efficiency: Monitor operational costs, implement process improvements, and drive cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.\n\n * Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular reports to senior management.\n\n * Production of Management Information suite: Ability to be data driven and use information to enable speedy decision making. Medium to advanced excel capability required\n\n * Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all operational processes comply with food safety regulations and act at the companies QA liaison between the business and our 3rd party manufacturing partners.\n\nAbout You:\n\nYou are a results-driven, highly organized professional with a background in managing operations in the FMCG food sector. You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and have a knack for identifying inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions.\n\nKey Skills & Experience:\n\n * Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in operations within FMCG (preferably in food or consumer goods) is essential.\n\n * Supply Chain Expertise: Strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics, GFR, inventory management, and forecasting.
Experience with multiple retail channels/sectors (e.g., supermarkets, Wholesale, Food Service) is a plus.\n\n * Team Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing internal teams is .\n\n * Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and act decisively to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.\n\n * Data-Driven: Comfortable with analysing data/KPIs and creating internal reports to inform decision-making and track operational performance.\n\n * Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.\n\n * Tech-Savvy: Experience with ERP systems, warehouse management software (WMS), and supply chain tools is essential.
