Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer\n\n Location: Reading, UK\n\n Industry: Manufacturing\n\nYou will work closely with suppliers, procurement, engineering, and production teams to resolve quality issues, reduce risk, and support new product introductions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage supplier quality performance, including audits, scorecards, and corrective actions\nLead supplier quality investigations using structured problem-solving tools (e.g. 8D, Root Cause Analysis)\nSupport new supplier qualification and onboarding activities\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects and improve processes\nReview and approve supplier PPAPs, FAIRs, and other quality documentation\nCollaborate with internal teams on change management, deviations, and non-conformances\nMonitor and report supplier KPIs and quality trends\nEnsure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements \n\n About You\n\nDegree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field\nProven experience in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality role\nStrong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g. PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC)\nExperience working with external suppliers in a manufacturing environment\nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independently\nWillingness to travel to supplier sites as required \n\n Desirable\n\nExperience in regulated or high-reliability manufacturing environments\nLead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 or equivalent)\nSix Sigma or Lean certification
