About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join their fostering team. Based from the Newton Aycliffe office, you will manage a caseload across the North East, with a hybrid working model combining home, office and foster carer visits.

What Youll Be Doing

• Managing a caseload of typically 1315 fostering families
• Providing reflective supervision, guidance and support to foster carers
• Undertaking professional assessments and identifying the needs of children and young people
• Promoting high standards of safeguarding and compliance
• Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota to provide wrap-around support
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the fostering service

You will play a vital role in ensuring children and young people reach their full potential in safe, stable and nurturing foster homes.

What Were Looking For

It is essential that you:

• Hold a recognised Social Work qualification
• Are registered with Social Work England (SWE)
• Have experience within fostering and/or childrens social care (e.g. Looked After Children teams)
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law and safeguarding
• Can make objective, professional assessments
• Are reflective, creative and committed to achieving the best outcomes
• Have access to a vehicle and hold a valid UK driving licence
• Are willing to participate in an out-of-hours on-call service
