Sub Agent - Civil Engineering (Aviation Projects)

We're working with a specialist civil engineering contractor delivering works across major UK airfields to recruit a Sub Agent to support project delivery on aviation infrastructure schemes.

Projects include airfield pavement works, asphalt and concrete replacement, joint sealing, ground lighting and associated civils, with work primarily based at Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport, with occasional travel across the UK.

The Role

As Sub Agent, you'll support the Project Manager in delivering works safely, on time and within budget. You'll take responsibility for managing sections of work, coordinating site activities and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and contractual requirements.

This role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with site teams, subcontractors and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day delivery of allocated work packages
Prepare and review RAMS, permits and quality documentation (ITPs, check sheets)
Coordinate labour, plant, materials and site resources
Carry out lookahead planning and monitor progress against programme
Monitor costs and report risks, delays and early warnings
Ensure compliance with health, safety and site regulations
Maintain accurate records, site diaries and handover documentation
Liaise with commercial teams on variations and change
Conduct site inspections and monitor supplier performance
Provide technical support and maintain strong client relationships

What We're Looking For

Experience in a Sub Agent or similar role within civil engineering
Strong understanding of construction methods and site delivery
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical information
Good organisational and communication skills
Experience managing teams and coordinating site activities
Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Project / AutoCAD beneficial)

Qualifications:

HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent)
CSCS Card
SMSTS
First Aid (preferred)
Full UK Driving Licence
