Overview
Are you passionate about improving student experience, engagement and success? Do you have the vision and leadership skills to shape institution-wide approaches to retention and student support? We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Student Engagement Manager to join our Student Success Team.
As the Student Engagement Manager, you will play a central role in implementing our new College-wide Student Engagement and Retention Strategy. You will also lead a team of Student Engagement Officers, overseeing their coordination, performance and professional development.
Working closely with the Head of Student Success, you will act as a subject matter expert on student attendance and engagement, working in partnership with colleagues across Registry, IT, academic schools and central services. Your ability to analyse data, influence strategic decision-making and drive improvements will directly support the continuation, completion and success of our diverse student body.
We’re looking for someone who can bring both strategic insight and operational confidence. You will have:
Strong understanding of the needs of a diverse student body and current issues in the higher education sector
Knowledge of student attendance requirements and engagement policies
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise across multiple areas and lead a busy service
Experience using student record data and engagement management systems
You will also be a strong people manager, able to build a team and skilled at building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and a confident communicator through a variety of media.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Student Engagement Officers, overseeing coordination, performance management and professional development.
Implement and monitor the College-wide Student Engagement and Retention Strategy.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Registry, IT, academic schools and central services to improve attendance and engagement outcomes.
Analyse data to inform strategic decisions and drive service improvements.
Salary and benefits
£44,247 rising to £50,379 per year, Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.

Contract
