Civil & Structural Engineer - Energy & Infrastructure\n Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)\n Sector: Energy, Nuclear, Renewables & Major Infrastructure\n An established engineering and design consultancy is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to join its growing Energy & Infrastructure team, supporting a portfolio of complex and nationally significant projects across the UK.\n This role offers the opportunity to work on major energy developments, including nuclear, renewable, and advanced industrial facilities, contributing directly to long-term infrastructure delivery and sustainability objectives.\n You will join a collaborative, technically strong team delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle.\n The Role\n The successful candidate will be involved from early feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.\n Key responsibilities include:\n\nCivil and structural analysis and design for energy and infrastructure projects\nSupporting bids, feasibility studies, and detailed design delivery\nPreparing technical documentation including calculations, specifications, and design reports\nUndertaking finite element modelling and structural verification\nParticipating in site visits, inspections, and design reviews\nEnsuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements\nEngaging with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes\n About You\n You will be technically capable, proactive, and comfortable working in a regulated engineering environment.\n Essential:\n\nDegree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline\nWorking towards or holding IEng or CEng status (support available)\nStrong understanding of civil and structural design principles and standards\nExperience using structural analysis and finite element software\nAwareness of health, safety, and design risk management\nAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary teamsDesirable:\n\nExperience within energy, nuclear, or other regulated sectors\nFamiliarity with UK nuclear licensing or similar regulatory processes\nExperience working within BIM-enabled design environmentsWhat's on Offer\n Alongside a competitive salary, the role offers a comprehensive remuneration package, including:\n\n40-hour working week\n26 days annual leave plus bank holidays\nHybrid working, with a permanent office base at Darwen House, Irlam (minimum 2 days per week in office)\nReimbursement of travel and business expenses\nEngineering-spec laptop, bag, and required software/IT equipment\nExcellent support for professional training and development\nFunded professional membership\nStructured support towards chartership\nFunded team socials and company events\nAdditional benefits availableCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, , , /beliefs, or .
