Talent Acquisition Partner at Newcastle Building Society

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity, in the newly created role of Strategic Talent Development Partner, to lead the design, development and delivery of talent development across our Group. Through your development team, supporting the delivery of the wider talent strategy, developing a strong learning culture that supports the delivery of our strategic objectives. You are expected to be the critical link between ambition and execution, leading group-wide projects that address current and future learning needs, achieve economies of scale and demonstrates ROI.

Leading the development of the Group’s Professional Development Strategy, in partnership with key stakeholders within the People function and across the wider organisation, acting as a trusted advisor to lead an innovative and responsive organisational approach to the development of talent. You'll ensure that development activity is prioritised, governed, and delivered in a consistent, transparent, and strategic way that supports delivery of the wider Talent portfolio.

You will have the opportunity to shape our approach to early careers, working with our strategic partners and Talent Acquisition team to explore how we can enhance and build upon our Early Talent programme, fully utilising our use of the apprenticeship levy (Growth and Skills Levy), graduate schemes and placements. Playing a key part in creating a culture of delivery excellence that is data-led, customer focused and prioritises continuous improvement.

About You

The Strategic Talent Development Partner will possess an authentic passion for people development, alongside substantial experience in a senior leadership role, leading a strategically aligned portfolio, within a learning/talent development function. You will be experienced in working with Board and Executive teams and possess a deep understanding of a wide range of learning methodologies, with the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality and impactful learning solutions.

You should be experienced in leading multi-disciplinary learning teams towards a collective ambition, with a proven ability to align priorities and coordinate activity across multiple workstreams, reducing duplication and ensuring cross-functional collaboration. Being confident operating within a matrix model and committed to partnership working, evident through the establishment of key stakeholder relationships at all levels.

You will be comfortable leading within the early careers space, experienced in driving this portfolio, through internal and external learning pathways. You will be experienced in working in partnership with learning providers and in the effective management and utilisation of the apprenticeship levy (Growth and Skills Fund), as a key part of a wider talent development strategy.

Experienced in leading immersive and engaging induction and onboarding solutions, you will also be skilled in supporting the digital learning agenda, with proven experience of applying digital solutions where appropriate and within the context of the broader talent development strategy, to achieve maximum impact and return on investment.
