The Role:
We are seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to carry out high‑quality inspections, surveys and compliance assessments across housing stock. The role supports planned assets, responsive repairs and void inspection functions, ensuring properties remain safe, compliant and well‑maintained. You will diagnose issues, order repairs, maintain accurate data and support performance targets within the housing assets service.
Key Responsibilities :
Repairs, Compliance & Service Delivery
* Deliver efficient and effective surveying services across homes and associated assets.
* Manage repair ordering processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Undertake pre‑inspections to diagnose and schedule repairs; complete post‑inspections to verify standards.
* Work closely with contractors to support responsive repairs delivery.
* Report urgent works and integrate findings into planned programmes.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, contract regulations and financial procedures.
Surveying & Property Inspections
* Carry out full Stock Condition Surveys and cyclical inspections to a consistent standard.
* Complete HHSRS surveys and EPC assessments, including void properties.
* Conduct visual asbestos inspections and update management information.
* Undertake periodic compliance inspections (fire safety, asbestos, HHSRS, etc.).
* Pre‑inspect planned works and assess completed voids prior to re‑let.
* Discuss planned works with tenants and address concerns.
Data & Reporting
* Capture tenant and survey data accurately into relevant systems.
* Maintain detailed documentation for all inspections and repairs.
General Responsibilities:
* Follow all equalities, conduct, data protection and health & safety policies.
* Complete and update risk assessments as required.
* Carry out additional duties as needed, aligned with the level of the role.
What We’re Looking For :
* Experience in property surveying, stock condition inspections or housing asset management.
* Knowledge of HHSRS, EPC processes, asbestos awareness and housing compliance frameworks.
* Strong diagnostic skills and understanding of building defects and repair requirements.
* Ability to interpret regulations, standards and compliance requirements.
* Confident communicator with tenants, contractors and internal teams.
* Proficient in digital job management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
* Accurate approach to data recording and reporting.
* Ability to work independently across a mix of site, home and office environments.
