Job Description
Staffing Operations Manager
Glasgow | Full-time
At Selective, Recruitment Operations sits at the very heart of what we do.
We’re a people-first staffing business, delivering exceptional teams for some of the UK’s most exciting events, venues and hospitality clients. From large-scale events to day-to-day staffing support, we pride ourselves on exceeding expectations — every shift, every time.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Staffing Operations Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving delivery, supporting clients, and shaping the future of our business.
Operating as part of our shared delivery function, you’ll help manage and deliver staffing solutions for clients across Glasgow and Edinburgh, ensuring seamless fulfilment and outstanding service.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for someone who thrives under pressure, thinks quickly, and enjoys solving problems in real time. You’ll be highly organised, confident juggling priorities, and comfortable making decisions that keep operations moving.
While the role can be based anywhere in the Central Belt, you’ll be required to work full-time from our Glasgow Head Office for a minimum of three months during training and onboarding. After this time 1 - 2 days working from home can be discussed.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and hospitality team members
- Supporting new team members through onboarding and training
- Managing a busy team member inbox and responding to queries promptly
- Assisting clients with booking shifts and ensuring fulfilment
- Working closely with our technology partner Ubeya
- Creating and checking timesheets, ensuring accuracy of data
- Taking ownership of client accounts and developing a deep understanding of their needs
- Supporting event check-ins when required
- Attending regular client meetings
- Helping to shape processes and contribute to the growth of Selective
- Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Ability to work at pace in a busy environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confident multitasker and team player
- Experience with Excel, Microsoft and Adobe
- Ability to plan ahead and stay calm under pressure
- Hospitality and/or recruitment experience preferred
Occasional evening and weekend work will be required due to the nature of events, but this time will always be given back in lieu.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.
- Management or coordination experience, including staff scheduling and resource planning
- Client relationship management and sales experience
- Recruitment, onboarding or team training experience
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Experience in hospitality or event staffing is a plus
- Education or relevant experience in business, HR or a related field preferred
You’ll be joining a growing, ambitious business where people matter, ideas are welcomed, and no two days are the same. This is a chance to make a real impact, build strong client partnerships, and grow with a company that’s passionate about what it does.
If you’re ready to take ownership, lead from the front, and be part of something exciting — we’d love to hear from you.
