Your New Company The Department for Communities (DfC) is seeking a qualified and experienced Staff Officer Accountant to join its Resource Accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to accurate financial reporting and support key business processes within a dynamic public sector environment. Your New Role As a Staff Officer Accountant, you will: Prepare and post monthly journals Liaise with stakeholders to investigate and resolve reconciling items Complete general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations Provide financial information for the Annual Report and Accounts Support the production of accounts and VAT returns Undertake other ad hoc finance duties as required Office attendance is required on Mondays and Tuesdays at Causeway Exchange, Belfast. What You'll Need to Succeed Professionally qualified accountant At least one year's experience within the last five years in a finance-related environment, in one or more of the following areas: Financial planning and budgeting Financial accounting/auditing Forensic accounting/insolvency-related work Management accounting and cost analysis Investment finance Treasury management Development/implementation of financial systems What You'll Get in Return Hourly Rate: £24.04-£25.01 per hour (£41,272 annually) Contract: Temporary (12 months+) which will open the doors to putting yourself forward for the permanent external competitions coming up in the NICS with the help of your line manager and team Hours:37 per week | Monday-Friday| Flexible start and finish times Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days in office / 3 days from home Flexibility:Flexi-time available What You Need to Do NowIf you're interested in this role, click 'Apply Now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us today.
