FULL AND PART TIME HOURS AVAILABLE On Ward D1 you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team made up of 8 Gastroenterology Consultants, a specialist dietician and pharmacist, and a team of nutrition nurse specialists who work closely with the gastroenterology team. D1 is a 25 bedded acute ward. There is ward based training and the clinical director of gastroenterology is supportive of SIMS training. A supportive induction is provided and all competencies and training are offered to help you be the best nurse you can be.
Responsibilities
Provide high standards of care on a busy 25 bedded acute gastroenterology ward (Ward D1).
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Care for patients with NG tubes (NGs), PEG tubes and PICC lines.
Perform venepuncture and cannulation (training available).
Supervise and support healthcare assistants and work well within a team.
Care for acutely unwell patients and participate in ongoing education and learning.
Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and district / trust values.
Provide care delivery that meets professional standards and maintain excellent written documentation.
Engage in professional development and take advantage of opportunities to study at degree/master level modules related to Gastroenterology.
Qualifications and Requirements
Ability to communicate well with the MDT.
Excellent standard of written documentation.
Willingness to participate in further education and learning.
Be supportive of ward induction and training; be prepared to undertake additional training as needed.
Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and to professional growth.
