Speech and Language Therapist – Croydon & Deal, Kent Schools
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join an expanding Therapeutic Team covering schools in Croydon and Deal, Kent. This part-time role (2 days per week, Term Time only) offers an exciting opportunity to work across three school sites, supporting children and young people in specialist SEN/SEMH settings. Main Duties for the Speech and Language Therapist include:

Assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) across KS1–KS4 (ages 5–16).
Designing and implementing individualised and group-based SALT programmes.
Managing a caseload of schools to provide support and consultation for colleagues working with children and young people.
Providing specialist advice and guidance to teams to help them support pupils’ communication and emotional needs.
Conducting assessments, setting goals, and recommending therapeutic support for pupils in your caseload.
Developing, writing, and regularly reviewing therapeutic goals for children and young people in education.
Contributing to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to staff.
Participating in service development activities and using outcome tools to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Liaising with external agencies, including Local Authorities, CAMHS, and voluntary services, to ensure pupils’ needs are appropriately met.To Be Successful:

Qualified (or nearly qualified) and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
Experience supporting children and young people with SLCN and SEMH needs, ideally in educational or specialist settings.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Passionate about helping children develop confidence, self-belief, and personal achievement.
Resilient, enthusiastic, and able to manage multiple school sites.
Enhanced DBS (we can assist with this).
Eligibility to work in the UK.
(Desirable) Experience delivering staff training and knowledge of therapeutic models for children.Why Work in This Setting?
