Specifications Technologist Fresh People are recruiting for a well-established food manufacturing operation based in Ashford, operating within a fast-paced FMCG environment. Due to continued growth and customer demand, a Specifications Technologist is required to join the Technical team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical career within a structured and quality-focused business. The Role As Specifications Technologist, you will be responsible for the creation, review and maintenance of product specifications and related technical documentation to ensure compliance with customer and legal requirements. You will work closely with Technical, NPD, Commercial and Operational teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of specifications across multiple customer portals. Complete specification submissions via customer portals Ensure all specifications meet legal, food safety and customer requirements Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate raw material information and documentation Maintain internal specification systems and technical databases Support artwork approval processes ensuring compliance with labelling regulations Assist with customer queries relating to product composition and technical data Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date and audit ready Support the wider Technical team during audits and customer visits Work cross-functionally with NPD, Process and Commercial teams About You Previous experience in a Specifications Technologist or Technical Administrator role within food manufacturing or fresh produce Experience working with retailer or customer specification systems is advantageous Strong attention to detail and high level xehkeey of accuracy Good understanding of food labelling legislation Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with suppliers and internal teams Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook) Own transport required due to location How to Apply If you have experience within a technical or specifications role and are looking to develop your career within a growing FMCG business, we would be keen to hear from you.
