As a Solution Architect Specialist, you’ll independently lead the design and delivery of technical solutions that are fit for purpose and aligned with business needs. You’ll translate customer requirements into scalable, secure architectures and guide them through BT’s governance and security sign-off processes. This is a role for someone who thrives on both technical depth and strategic thinking—delivering solutions that make a real difference to customers and the wider industry.What you’ll be doingAs a Solution Architect Specialist, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering secure, scalable infrastructure solutions that support BT’s voice and messaging services.
You’ll work across teams to ensure our solutions are technically sound, repeatable, and aligned with customer needs. Your responsibilities will include:Designing infrastructure for voice communication services (VoIP) and messaging platforms (e.g. SMS, with a view to evolving toward WhatsApp-style messaging)Supporting future expansion into video calling capabilitiesContributing to federated login systems for government clients—enhancing security and reducing the need to store user credentialsLeading the delivery of robust, repeatable technical solutions that meet customer requirements and drive positive outcomesPartnering with business and operational stakeholders to conduct technical discovery and align solutions with strategic goalsProducing clear, actionable recommendations, proposals, and scopes of work—identifying critical dependencies and risksCreating innovative solution architectures that address complex challenges and meet agreed requirementsThe skills you'll needWe’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative, customer-focused mindset.
