Protection Specialist Claims Assessor\nSalary - competitive\n\nAre you someone who thrives on helping others and has experience in assessing protection claims?\n\nDo you enjoy working in a supportive team where empathy and attention to detail matter?\n\nWe’re looking for experienced Life Claims Assessors to join our brilliant team.\n\nWe settle 98.3% of all individual protection policies and paid over £1 billion in claims last year – and we’d love your help to keep that going.\n\nA bit about the job\n\nYou’ll assess life, terminal illness and critical illness claims – from investigation to outcome – while supporting customers with empathy, including delivering difficult news sensitively.\n\nFrom start to finish, you’ll guide customers through their claims journey with care and clarity, and refer complex cases to specialists when needed.\n\nYou’ll manage a portfolio of claims across multiple systems, suggest improvements, and adapt to new technologies. Communication is key, when working with brokers and third parties, as well as customers.\n\nYou’ll also be a key contact for technical queries and help coach others. This role is all about delivering great service and making a real difference.\n\nSkills and experience we’re looking for\n\n Experience assessing life-related products (e.g., life insurance, terminal illness, critical illness, income protection).\n\nKnowledge of legal aspects like probate and CIDRA rules.\n\nExperience managing claims end-to-end, including signing out claim’s decisions independently.\n\nStrong communication skills, including supporting vulnerable customers, with customer-first mindset with great attention to detail.\n\nConfidence in making decisions and adapting quickly to change.\n\nWhat you’ll get for this role\n\n Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)\n\nBonus opportunity – up to 8% of annual salary.
