Are you a patient, resilient and enthusiastic individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming and inclusive school in South Birmingham.
Location: South Birmingham
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Contract: Full-time | Long-term (potential for permanent placement)
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs-such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs or learning difficulties-helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN Using tailored strategies to remove learning barriers Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo Assisting with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children with SEN (school or care setting) A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliability and a genuine passion for inclusive education An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness xehkeey to apply) Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) is beneficial but not essential
