Tradewind Recruitment is working with a supportive and inclusive school in Oldham that is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support four pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour, including two non-verbal students. This is a full-time, long-term role , with the goal of gradually increasing pupils' engagement and helping transition them from part-time to full-time education . Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of additional needs Assist in delivering tailored learning and behaviour support strategies Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans Help maintain a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development Experience supporting children with special educational needs and/or challenging behaviour Confidence working with non-verbal pupils and knowledge of alternative communication methods such as PECS or Makaton (desirable) This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support.
