Overview: We are seeking an experienced, reliable Chef for a new seafood restaurant in Hastings Old Town. This would suit an experienced sous chef who is able to work jointly with the head chef. You should be able to manage food production, and preparation to a professional standard. If you think this is you we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities: - Help to plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities - Have input i to creating innovative and delicious menus - Be trained in food safety and proper cooking techniques - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations - Assist with food inventory and order supplies as needed - Collaborate with management and head chef to develop new recipes and menus - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment - Manage food costs and minimize waste Experience: - Proven experience as a Chef or similar role in a high-volume pub or restaurant or culinary establishment - Good knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and food preparation techniques - Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Skills: - Proficient in cooking techniques across various cuisines - Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools - Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices - Effective communication skills for collaborating with staff and management Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temp to perm Contract length: 36 months Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 30 per week Benefits: Discounted or free food Employee discount Experience: Chef: 1 year (required) Cooking: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (required) Work Location: In person Reference ID: Restaurant chef
