You will identify security gaps, implement robust protection measures, and configure and manage a broad range of security technologies to ensure resilience across client estates.Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Architecture & DeploymentDesign and implement protective security solutions across client environmentsConfigure and manage firewalls, endpoint security platforms, and cloud-based protection servicesIncident Handling & ResponseLead investigations into security incidentsContain and remediate breaches effectivelyReview incidents and introduce preventative improvementsWork directly with clients to maintain proactive security postureVulnerability & Risk ManagementPerform vulnerability scanning and penetration testingAssess risk exposure and implement mitigation strategiesDeploy corrective actions to strengthen infrastructure resilienceMonitoring & ReportingDeploy and maintain security monitoring solutionsProvide structured reporting on incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation progressBest Practice & GovernanceAdvise clients on security frameworks, policies and operational standardsContribute to establishing robust and scalable cyber security practicesClient EngagementAct as a trusted advisor to clients on security mattersUnderstand business requirements and recommend appropriate solutionsWork alongside wider engineering teamsProvide guidance and support to junior engineersEnsure consistent application of security standards across projectsTechnical Expertise RequiredSecurity ToolingStrong hands-on experience with firewall platforms such as Palo Alto and FortinetKnowledge of IDS technologiesExperience with EDR tools including Microsoft Defender and SophosFamiliarity with SIEM platformsDeep understanding of VLANs, VPNs, DNS, TCP/IPExperience securing Microsoft Azure and AWS environmentsExpertise in access controls, configuration management and threat preventionDeployment and management of solutions such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Bitdefender or SophosPractical knowledge of investigation, containment and remediation processesExposure to SOC environments beneficialCertifications & StandardsCyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certificationKnowledge of GDPR, ISO 27001 and NIST frameworksExperience embedding security best practice within client infrastructuresConducting structured testing and risk management exercisesProject & Stakeholder ManagementDelivery of client-facing security projects to deadlineAbility to translate complex technical matters for non-technical audiencesHybrid model including work-from-home Fridays and additional remote flexibility22 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days with tenureQuarterly and annual staff awardsFunded social eventsOngoing professional development and training opportunitiesThis organisation is an equal opportunities employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
