Birchwell Associates are recruiting on behalf of an established UK EPC contractor operating across the renewable energy sector. We are seeking an accomplished Solar PV Technical Manager to take ownership of the technical delivery of solar PV projects from early-stage design through to commissioning and handover. This is a senior technical leadership position, suited to a hands-on professional who can ensure high standards of engineering quality, safety compliance, and system performance across a diverse project portfolio. The Role As Solar PV Technical Manager, you will lead the technical function across commercial and utility-scale solar projects, providing expert oversight, governance, and mentoring to engineering and site teams. Key responsibilities include: Managing the full technical design and engineering process for solar PV installations
Carrying out site audits, quality inspections, snagging, and producing detailed QC reports
Reviewing EPC contracts and technical specifications and translating requirements into electrical designs, schematics, and subcontractor scopes
Preparing technical content for tenders, including system designs, bills of quantities, rate cards, and technical schedules
Undertaking cable calculations, AC network analysis, and system performance assessments
