Solar Electrician – Reading | Permanent | Competitive Salary DOE

A well-established renewable energy installer is expanding its installation team and is looking to hire an experienced Solar Electrician on a permanent, directly employed basis. The business has a strong industry reputation, a stable team, and a full pipeline of domestic and commercial work across the South.

This is an on-the-tools role with genuine variety — you will be involved in the full installation process, from pre-installation surveying through to commissioning, across a mix of residential and commercial projects.

The Role:

• Installing, commissioning and maintaining solar PV and battery storage systems
• Working on a mix of domestic and commercial projects (system sizes from small residential up to larger commercial installs)
• Supporting pre-installation surveying alongside the senior installation team
• Working within a typical 50–60 mile radius of Reading — regular work across Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and into London
• Liaising directly with clients on site

What We're Looking For:

• Level 2 or Level 3 electrical qualification
• Solar PV qualification (City & Guilds, BPEC or Logic)
• Minimum 12 months' experience installing, commissioning and maintaining domestic solar PV systems
• Commercial PV and/or domestic battery storage experience advantageous
• Working at Heights, Asbestos Awareness and ECS/CSCS preferred (further training provided where needed)
• Reliable, presentable and comfortable in a client-facing environment
