This is a foundational hire for an Software Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer ready to step up, own a technical roadmap and build a legacy in a high-growth "Tech for Good" environment. Strategic Leadership: Reporting to the CEO, you’ll join the leadership team to "join the dots" between business strategy and global technical scale. Stay Close to the Craft: You’ll remain 30% hands-on, leading complex technical spikes, architectural decisions, and critical code paths. Team & Partners: Lead a specialist in-house data team while managing the relationship and ROI of high-performing outsourced development partners. Platform Evolution: Own the move to global scale, ensuring resilience, security, and the ingestion of complex third-party geospatial datasets.

Software Engineering Manager Requirements

Proven Leader: You’ve led and grown teams, ideally within a growth-stage startup. Technical Depth: Expert in Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS infrastructure. You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty when the situation demands it. Data Savvy: Comfortable with complex datasets (Geospatial/PostGIS experience is a massive plus). The "Step Up": You are likely a Lead or EM who wants more autonomy and a seat at the leadership table.
