My client is a leading independent financial services company, specialising in research, execution, fixed income, credit & structured solutions, corporate finance, and asset management.
The CTO is currently looking for a Software Development Manager to lead an international team of 25. The role will involve leading the team on three cutting edge greenfield builds for Execution, Research & Data.

What You'll Do
- Own the technical direction and architectural decisions across platforms.
- Oversee the development of core platforms including trading systems, data pipelines, analytics tools, and internal applications.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with business units, infrastructure teams and stakeholders to ensure delivery of impactful software solutions.
- Lead and grow a high-performing software development team across multiple locations.
- Define and execute the software development roadmap in alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Champion agile and DevOps best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and promote skill development.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and a strong engineering culture.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience leading software development teams in a financial services or fintech environment.
- A strong technical background in enterprise-level software architecture and design, with exposure to trading, data analytics, or market infrastructure systems.
- Deep knowledge of modern technologies and methodologies including Java and Cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure, CI/CD, containers, micro-services.
- Experience of high availability, high scalability, low latency trading platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
