Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a thriving and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Sociology Teacher from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking humanities department within a school that places a strong emphasis on academic achievement, aspiration, and student wellbeing

The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Sociology lessons at KS4 and KS5. You will inspire students to think critically about society, culture, and social issues, while supporting strong outcomes at GCSE and A level.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging and well-structured Sociology lessons

Teaching GCSE and A-level Sociology (AQA or equivalent)

Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress effectively

Contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement

Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment with high expectations

About You:

To be considered for this role, you will:

Hold QTS (or be working towards it)

Have experience teaching Sociology at secondary level, including KS5

Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject

Be committed to inclusive practice and raising student achievement

Be an ECT or experienced teacher seeking a new opportunity
