Role : Snr Procurement Category Manager - Public Sector

Salary : £45-55k + package (could be some flexibility)

Location : North Bristol

Hybrid : 3 days office

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement and Category Management professional to join a large, complex public sector organisation undergoing significant transformation. As the function continues to embed a category-led approach aligned to a long term 2030 strategy, this role offers the chance to shape and influence how procurement delivers strategic value across Estates, Commercial Services, Business Services and IT .

With responsibility for £100m to £120m of non-pay expenditure, the team plays a critical role in driving value for money, supporting capital and revenue programmes, and championing sustainability and equality initiatives. This is a high visibility position within a forward thinking organisation where procurement is recognised as a strategic enabler, not a back-office function.

Responsibilities :
\n
\n
Lead category management activity across key business pillars, aligning plans to organisational strategy
\n
Develop, implement and continuously review category strategies and sourcing plans
\n
Deliver end to end tender processes, from market engagement through to contract award
\n
Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure commercial and service outcomes are achieved
\n
Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders, building strong internal partnerships and securing buy in
\n
Ensure compliance with UK public procurement regulations and governance requirements
\n
Contribute to the delivery of sustainability, social value and equality objectives through procurement activity
\n
\n
\n
Requirements :
\n
\n
\n Proven experience in UK public sector procurement and category management
\n
Strong understanding of public procurement regulations and compliant sourcing routes
\n
Experience managing complex procurements within multi stakeholder environments
\n
Demonstrable ability to deliver end to end tenders and manage contracts effectively
\n
Highly organised, self motivated and able to manage competing priorities with confidence
\n
\n
\n
